1:1 coaching for teens and young adults

Private coaching for the years when support fades and the stakes get higher.

They've had a permit for two years and still haven't driven. There's a job application open on the laptop that nobody has touched since March. They won't call to schedule their own appointment, and you stopped asking because it turns into a fight.

Everyone told you they'd catch up. Graduation is coming, you're still the one making everything happen, and there's nobody left to hand it to.

We pick it up from there.

    How to Get Started

Getting started is simple, and we will walk with you through every step.

    1

    Set up your intake call.

A 15-minute video call so we can get to know you. Parents, this call is for you, and if you are signing up for yourself, book it directly. We will talk about what you are looking for, what has felt hard so far, and what we would recommend as the best fit.

    2

Schedule and pay for the first session.

Once we have found the right fit, choose a time that works and complete payment to hold the spot.

    3

Fill out the intake form and agreement.

A short questionnaire about your teen or young adult, plus a service agreement. Both are online and take a few minutes.

    4

    Come to the first session.

The first session is all about goal setting. Together we will decide what you want to work toward and build a self-management plan you helped create, so the goals belong to you from day one.

Not sure if coaching is the right fit?

    What we work on

Coaching is built around your teen, so this list is a starting point rather than a curriculum.

    Getting things done.

Starting a task, staying with it, and finishing it. The gap between knowing what to do and doing it is where most teens get stuck.

    Handling big feelings.

Naming what's happening and having a plan before it takes over.

    Talking to people.

Starting conversations, staying in one, handling a disagreement without it ending the friendship.

    Speaking up.

Asking for help, saying no, telling someone what you need. This one matters more every year.

    Running your own life.

Time, money, routines, appointments, the hundred small things nobody sits a teen down and teaches.

    Figuring out what's next.

A job, community college, a gap year, or no idea yet. All of those are workable. We start from wherever your teen is.

We figure out why it's hard before we teach anything

Sometimes a teen doesn't know how to do something yet. Sometimes they know exactly how and something is getting in the way, like anxiety, a bad experience they haven't gotten over, or simply never having had a real chance to practice.

Those look identical from the outside and they need completely different approaches. Most programs skip this part and go straight to teaching. We don't, because teaching a skill someone already has is how you lose a teenager in the first session.

    What a session looks like

Coaching sessions follow a clear rhythm so your teen or young adult always knows what to expect next.

    1

The first session is about figuring out where things stand.

What your teen or young adult is already good at, what's getting in the way, and what they want to be different. Then we set a goal together.

    2

That last part matters more than it sounds.

Most people this age have had goals set for them their whole lives, in IEPs and treatment plans and family meetings, and have never been the one holding the pen. Sitting down and deciding what to work on, then planning how to get there, is a skill by itself. It's usually the first one we build.

    3

After that, sessions are built around the goal.

Often it starts with talking something through, then trying it out rather than just discussing it. Practicing a conversation. Working through a real situation that's coming up. Building a system for something they keep getting stuck on. The coach gives honest feedback in the moment, and they figure out together what to adjust.

    4

We check what's working after every session, and the plan shifts as they do.

Sessions run an hour, one on one, online.

    What it's built on

Everything we do here comes from research on how people learn skills, not from a workbook someone wrote once. Our founder has spent 18+ years working with teens and families, and she designed this program and trained every coach who delivers it.

In practice that means a few things. We find out why a skill is hard before we teach it. We build on what your teen or young adult can already do rather than starting from zero. We practice in real situations instead of hypothetical ones, because that's the only way anything transfers. And we pay attention to what's working and change course when something isn't.

Nobody here is being coached into a different personality. Masking is exhausting and it isn't a skill worth building. We work on the things that make their own life easier to run.

    Common questions

    Start with a conversation.

We'll talk through what's going on with your teen and whether coaching makes sense. No pressure either way, and if a group is the better starting point we'll tell you that.
